Recap: My First Week as a Full-Time Freelancer

I’ve officially made it to the first real Friday of my full-time freelancing career. Whew. What a week!

Thanks to the announcement of my career change earlier this week on social media, I’ve received a ton of kind feedback and have even had a few new leads come in! Ongoing projects paired with responding to new business inquiries made this week especially busy (busy is good!). I’m headed home for Thanksgiving this weekend so I was trying to get as much done here as possible before I hit the road!

Here’s what I accomplished this week:

  • Acquired my own P.O. Box (it’s the little things 😅)

  • Got two inches of hair cut off, just in time for the holidays

  • FINALLY finalized some new updates to an existing client site (after Squarespace was down all day Tuesday)

  • Sent 2 new blog posts to a retainer client

  • Submitted 3 new client proposals

  • Updated my Pinterest with new blog posts

  • Set up my own campaign with MailChimp

  • Submitted a blog post for The South Dakota Cowgirl

  • Finalized an article full of social media tips for Progressive Cattle (look for this in December!)

  • Started working on a new logo for a youth livestock show

  • Drove to Denver for an exciting meeting (Denver ladies, we’ve got something fun coming soon!)

  • Hopped on a kickoff call for a new content project

  • Got around to registering my car in Colorado

  • Survived the THIRD snowstorm this season (it’s not even Thanksgiving yet!)

This week was a learning curve for sure, but I’m excited for what’s next and am up for the challenge. Again, thanks to all my friends and family for your support. It means the world!

If you have any questions about any of this or are interested in any of my services, fill out my form here and I’ll be in touch. Happy to help!
