We Moved.

I’m back! An explanation is long overdue, but, we moved, do I get a hall pass?

Did you know that moving is one of the top 5 stressors? I can affirm the truth in that (Matt probably can more so).

I was so sure I wasn’t going to like it here. The first visit was rough. We went from sunny and warm Phoenix to a grey, cold Front Range Spring day in Colorado. It rained off and on all weekend, we didn’t like any of the rentals we looked at, and we no joke pulled into a horse boarding facility and pulled right back out due to the bad vibes. The cherry on top was our flight getting cancelled and a 6 hour delay in the Denver Airport.

Arizona had just begun to feel like home, I had my routine, the winter was great, the summer was bearable (with my daily AJ’s of course), and we had friends and family close by.

The house buying process was also a trip. It’s not all Instagram hypes it up to be. Changing your name and moving from state to state really throws financial peeps for a loop. Who knew?? Luckily we had a great financial advisor and realtor who helped us through the process, and I can’t forget to thank our families (particularly my MIL, Kris, you da real MVP). We still did lose a couple years of our lives due to stress—but we made it out alive and as homeowners.

Minor heart attacks and major setbacks aside, we closed with no issues! Once we got here, our house immediately felt like home. The neighbors have been fantastic, Pokey loves his new fenced yard and the horse arrived in great condition and has settled into his new barn nicely.

While we are still trying to plug in (please share your Greeley/Windsor/Fort Collins church recs!) we’ve began our new normal as Coloradans.

Arizona will always be home. The friends and family there helping us through our first year of marriage will ALWAYS be appreciated. I can’t wait to visit y’all.

Until then, I have countless boxes to unpack and a new blank canvas to decorate. Any suggestions?

If you need a realtor rec in the NoCo area, look no further than Amy Rushing with Kittle Real Estate! I’m pretty sure we’d be homeless without her.
