The first month of freelancing has come and gone, and if we’re being completely honest — I didn’t even realize it. Time flies when you work for yourself I guess! These past 30+ days have been full of blessings, surprises and A LOT of learning curves.
When we found out we were moving to Colorado, we were given a quick turnaround so initially, we planned on renting. Believe it or not (believe it), Northern Colorado rentals are hard to find and we couldn’t quite find what we were looking for. In another quick turn of events, we decided pretty much last minute to buy. While nothing can really prepare you for the home buying *experience*, having a good relationship with your realtor and bank can go a long way, so make sure you pick wisely! Here are a few other things to consider before jumping in with both feet…
I’ve officially made it to the first real Friday of my full-time freelancing career. Whew. What a week!
Thanks to the announcement of my career change earlier this week on social media, I’ve received a ton of kind feedback and have even had a few new leads come in!

I feel like it’s not official until I create a “Life Event” on Facebook or something, but it’s true, I’m officially self-employed! Ahhhh! This transition has definitely been a work in progress this past year, and really there was no “perfect” time to take this leap of faith but here I am, ready to jump in.
It’s almost that time, it’s almost RÉSUMÉ SZN!
The holidays are almost here, and then the spring semester! I may be a couple of years out of college, but trust me the last thing you want to think about during your last semester of college is tuning up (or creating) your résumé so that you can start applying for jobs.
Moral of the story: if the South Dakota Cowgirl offers a photography workshop within driving distance, you go.
