My First 6 Months As A Freelancer
Since I officially started freelancing at the end of November 2019, I know this post is a little late! But ya know, I’ve just have been dealing with a global pandemic and what not! This post is actually great for me both personally and professionally, as it holds me accountable and gives me room to review and improve.
If you need some background on my decision to become a full-time freelancer, you can read my post about taking the leap and going full-time here!
LEVEL
Yes, I’m still a Co-Leader and the social media manager for the LEVEL Denver chapter! Since social distancing is now our norm, our Denver Launch Party got put on hold. The LEVEL Community hasn’t stopped there, we’ve taken our events nationally and have been hosting virtual workshops online! I even hosted a LEVEL Virtual Workshop myself, all about how to get your LinkedIn up to par. I’m attaching the Eventbrite link here so you can see what events we have coming up. I’d love to “see” you there!
Client Work
Here’s what I’ve been up to…
Ranch House Designs — I’m doing some social media contract work and I even got to write a blog post covering the best social media platform for ranchers.
Heartland Pathogend — Meet your marketing gal. I designed the website, create all the content and run the social media and advertising. I’m also fluent in G-suite now, so hit me up if you have any questions! 😅
Guest Blogging — I got to write another blog post about the future of data in the equine industry on behalf of NIGHTWATCH®.
Brand New Day — Emails. We’ve come together to work on monthly emails, containing everything from mental health resources to activities to do at home with your families. If you need some positivity (and first-to-know access to sales and upcoming product launches!) in your inbox on a monthly basis, you can sign up here!
Social Media Management — I’ve taken on a good friend of ours’ real estate account! It’s been so fun to see what works and what doesn’t in the real estate world — especially on social.
I have a couple more really exciting projects I’m working on at the moment — more coming soon!
Brand Collaborations
Hamilton Pet — Hamilton Pet halters are always something I’d admired for their quality and versatility. I was thrilled when they reached out offering an ambassador relationship. They not only are keeping Jack looking good, they even sent some treats and a collar and leash set for Pokey! PS I have a halter and lead giveaway that ends Sunday!
Horse Guard — I actually wrote a previous blog post on my experience, and even a few months later I’m happy to say I’ve gotten two more of my friends hooked on it! Seriously, if you’re looking to make a switch in supplements, ask me about Horse Guard. If you want to save a little, use code CAROLINEARENDT5 at the checkout!
Equivont — I’m an Equivont ambassador! Are you sensing a horse theme here? They have just about everything on their website an equestrian could need. Don’t forget to use my discount code ARENDT5 when checking out!
Big Wins
Got to join a Women’s Mastermind Bible Study where I not only get to saturate myself in the Word weekly with other ladies of faith, but we’re all small business owners with similar mindsets!
Supportive friends and family
I now have 4 retainer clients!! 🥳
Collaborated with Annelle + James for their first career profile! Network online people, you never know what opportunities might open up.
What’s next
I know the COVID-19 crisis has been on hard on everyone, in different ways. Keeping up with social media now is more important than ever and in that case I’m offering a few discounted consultation sessions for the remainder of June. These include a 45-minute call where we talk about your goals, strategy, takeaways and suggestions for your platforms. If you’re interested in scheduling one, you can get in contact with me here.
Next up in the blog post queue: Recommended tools for freelancers, Why I decided to Inject my 19-Year-Old Horse and My Experience, and Beef Market Update feat. Matt!
Thanks for tuning in, I missed this!
