The Hype Behind Iconoclast Boots
Things have changed a lot since I was a 14-year-old horse girl. Presently, I’m a horse girl making adult horse girl money and of course — spending it.
If you haven’t noticed the horse market and pretty much all related markets by proxy are sky-high (I’m currently paying $19/bale for Bermuda hay) so I get wanting to save a few bucks here or there. So here’s what I propose, I try, so you can buy. Deal?
On this episode of what’s in my — a novice, non pro, adult ammy — whatever your discipline wants to call me — tack room: support boots.
So if you’re shopping for your next pair of horse boots (really, can you have too many?) — this blog post is for you.
Support boots are nothing new to the horse world their main purpose is to support (clever, huh?). While supportive/orthopedic/sports medicine boots are not a foolproof way to ensure your horse’s soundness, they do significantly decrease your horse's chances of developing suspensory-related injuries while performing.
Meet the newest boot pair in my tack room: Iconoclast boots.
Chances are you’ve seen Iconoclast Boots. Their unique, patented double-strap design and bold, vertical logo make them noticeable. So what’s all the hype? Long story short:
The 360-degree support of the equine leg.
The classy look makes them accessible for multiple disciplines
First of its kind orthopedic boot for horses
I’ve been using them for a few weeks now in practice and at shows and here are my pro/cons.
Pros:
Strong velcro
Great fit
Doesn’t let sand/dirt in
Cons
I think the velcro is NASA level-strong. Make sure the first time you unlatch them is not right before heading into the show pen. is like a wrestling match.
Sizing is a little weird - make sure you measure!
Would I buy them again? Absolutely.
I love them so much, I’m going to invest in another front pair, - black this time, probably, and then some hinds!
